What's the difference between SCR and PWM DC drives?
SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) drives convert AC input to DC for 90V and 180V armature DC motors — ideal for line-voltage applications. PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) drives operate on low-voltage DC input (12–48VDC) — designed for battery-powered and mobile applications like material handling, AGVs, and portable equipment.
Can the EZ VFD® replace a more complex AC drive?
For many applications — yes. The EZ VFD® includes soft start, boost, forward-reverse, braking, and Multi-level Current Limit protection. If your application doesn't require PLC integration, fieldbus communication, or complex PID control, the EZ VFD® delivers everything you need at a lower cost and with dramatically simpler setup.
Is the 153D a drop-in replacement for the 125D?
Yes. The 153D is 100% backward compatible with the 125D Series. It uses the same mounting pattern and electrical connections while adding surface mount electronics, board-mounted LED diagnostics, and improved HP adjustment — making it a direct upgrade.
