Dust and weather set the specs at a quarry or mine. Indoor panels near crushers and screens take Type 12; outdoor and wash-down panels take Type 4 or 4X with a heater and a thermostat. Common questions
What enclosure rating for an outdoor conveyor panel?
Type 4 or 4X. Add a heater and a thermostat to stop condensation, and count sun load when you size the cooling.
Can I use filter fans in a crusher building?
Heavy dust loads the filter fast. Use a closed-loop air conditioner, or a heat exchanger when the air stays cooler than the panel target.
Do conveyor drives need reactors?
A line reactor on the drive input helps with line notching and nuisance trips. Long leads to the motor may need a load reactor or filter. See line vs load reactor.
What control transformer for a 600 V site?
Micron Group E: 550/575/600 V primary, 110/115/120 V secondary, 50 to 750 VA.
