One contamination event can shut down a production line and destroy a brand. Every electrical and mechanical component in the process zone must be designed for sanitary environments. Here's what we supply.
IP69K Stainless Steel Gearmotors
Bison 261 Sanimotor — Motor and gear train sealed in a single IP69K stainless shell. No external seams or crevices for bacteria to harbor. Purpose-built for conveyors, mixers, and packaging machinery in meat, dairy, bakery, and beverage lines.
TECO-Westinghouse Washdown Motors — Stainless steel TEFC motors for food-grade applications where standard painted motors corrode.
Bison Gearmotors → Washdown Motors →NEMA 4X Corrosion-Proof Enclosures
Stahlin fiberglass enclosures resist caustic cleaners, acids, and daily washdowns without corroding — at 30–50% less than 316 stainless. NEMA 4X, 6P, IP66/IP68.
Hammond 316 stainless steel Eclipse series when metallic construction is required by plant standards.
Stahlin → Hammond SS →NEMA 4X Washdown Cooling
Pfannenberg DTS 3000 NEMA 4/4X cooling units with stainless steel options for direct washdown zones. PWS heat exchangers in stainless steel for maintenance-free liquid cooling. CCE/EB chillers for process cooling on extrusion, packaging, and vision systems.
Pfannenberg → Chillers →Food-Grade Cable Protection
Aeros USA IP69K-rated food-grade conduit, FDA-compliant connectors, and sealed cable entry systems that maintain enclosure ratings at every cable penetration point. Prevents ingress at the weakest link in any panel installation.

What IP rating do I need for food processing equipment?
Most food processing environments require at minimum NEMA 4X (IP66) for hosedown resistance and corrosion protection. High-pressure washdown areas — common in meat, poultry, and dairy — typically require IP69K, rated for high-pressure, high-temperature close-range washdown per DIN 40050 Part 9.
Why choose fiberglass enclosures over stainless steel in food plants?
Fiberglass enclosures like Stahlin's J and N Series cannot corrode — even with daily exposure to caustic cleaning agents and acidic food products. They cost 30–50% less than 316 stainless steel. Stainless steel can still pit in highly acidic or chloride-rich food processing environments, while fiberglass is immune.
What is the Bison Sanimotor?
The Bison 261 Series Sanimotor is an IP69K-rated inline parallel shaft gearmotor with the three-phase AC motor and entire gear train sealed inside a single stainless steel shell. It eliminates the crevices and seams found on conventional gearmotors that harbor bacteria — making it purpose-built for sanitary food and pharmaceutical environments.
