The AGRO 1083.17 is a M16x1.5 EMC cable gland in nickel-plated brass from the Progress EMC easyCONNECT series. A contact spring inside the gland lands on the cable braid, so a shielded VFD or servo cable is bonded to the enclosure wall at the entry point. It takes cable from 6 to 10.5 mm outside diameter with the two-piece sealing insert, and it is rated IP 68 (10 bar) and IP 69 from -60 C to +100 C. Picking the size
Start from the cable outside diameter, not the thread. Each Progress gland has two ranges: the wide range with the two-piece insert alone, and the smaller range with the inlet left in. Pick the thread that puts your cable inside one of those ranges, then check the panel hole and wall thickness against the thread length. Short entry threads suit thin sheet metal walls and lock nuts. Long entry threads suit thick walls, tapped holes and castings. Sealing inserts to EN 45545 and NFPA 130 are available on request; the article number gets an F in front. The metric sizes on this site run M16 to M63. Pg and NPT threads are available; send the size you need.
EMC glands on VFD cable
A shielded motor cable only works as a shield when the braid is bonded at both ends over 360 degrees. A pigtail on the shield adds inductance and lets noise back into the panel. The easyCONNECT contact spring touches the braid all the way around, and the cable can be dismantled part way or stripped fully.
