Where the parts land

Every data center is laid out differently, but the component positions repeat. This map shows the subsystem each line goes into. Click into a line below for part numbers, or send the drawing and we will mark it up.

Inside a cooling control panel

The controls that run the chillers, pumps and CDUs have their own power, protection, cooling and wiring problems. One panel design repeats across every unit an OEM ships, so getting the component positions right once pays back on every build. Here is where each line sits in a typical chiller, pump skid or CDU panel.

Eight ways the work usually comes in

The company building the site, the contractor installing the gear, the distributor supplying it and the OEM designing the equipment are often four different companies. Each one buys a different slice. Find your slice, send what is listed, and we take it from there.

Common questions

Does Applied Control build or install data centers?

No. We are the manufacturers' representative for the component lines above. Contractors, equipment builders and facility teams send us a drawing, a bill of material, an equipment schedule or a replacement part number, and we identify the right manufacturer, pull the specs and get the quote out.

What should I send to get a quote?

For tray, the pathway drawings and tray schedule. For SPDs, the one-line and the list of exposed circuits. For transformers, the one-line, kVA, voltages and required on-site date. For a control panel, the schematic, cabinet size, heat load and ambient. For a motor or drive, the nameplate and duty point. Part numbers alone work too.

Can you cross a Hoffman, Belden, Bussmann or Baldor part number?

Yes. Hoffman and Rittal enclosures cross to Hammond and Stahlin, Belden and Lapp VFD cable crosses to Tekima, Baldor and WEG motors cross to TECO, Acme and Sola control transformers cross to Micron. Send the part number and the cross comes back with a price.

Is a K-rated transformer the same as a harmonic-mitigating transformer?

No. A K-factor rating is a thermal capability, it says the transformer can carry a defined harmonic load without overheating. A harmonic-mitigating transformer uses its winding and phase arrangement to cancel specific harmonics. Rex builds both. Send the load mix and the UPS topology and we will pick the right construction.

Do your fuse holders and disconnects include the fuse?

A Marathon fuse holder or fused disconnect accepts a fuse of the stated class. The fuse itself is selected and supplied separately. Tell us the fuse class and rating and we will quote the holder or switch that fits it.

How fast can I get a price?

Quotes go out the same business day, 8 to 5 Eastern, Monday through Friday. Large transformer and BESS packages go to the factory for application review and come back with a written scope.
