Shaft and encoder versions
HT17-268 is the single shaft motor. HT17-268D adds a rear shaft for a brake, handwheel or encoder. The datasheet lists these encoder equipped versions: HT17-268D-BAA, HT17-268D-CAA, HT17-268D-WAA. Ask for the one you need with the quote and we confirm the encoder resolution and output.
Picking the winding
Bipolar parallel gives the most torque at speed and draws the highest current. Bipolar series draws half the current and holds torque better at low speed. Unipolar is for drives that need it. Set the drive current to the figure in the table for the connection you wire. Torque speed curves for each connection are on the datasheet.
Drives
Applied Motion step drives (STAC5, STAC6, STR and ST series) and StepSERVO closed loop drives run these motors. Tell us the supply voltage, the controller or network and the move profile and we pick the drive with the motor. More on the line at Applied Motion Products stepper and servo motion and the Applied Motion collection.
