Applied Motion STM23S-3EN is a NEMA 23 integrated step motor: the motor and the microstep drive in one body. 210 oz-in holding torque, 5 A drive current, runs on 12 to 70 VDC, talks Ethernet 10/100 (TCP and UDP). The S model takes step and direction from a PLC or motion controller, runs at a set velocity, or takes streaming SCL commands. No separate drive to mount in the panel. Reading the part number

STM23 is the frame family. The letter after it is the control level: S for step and direction, velocity and SCL, Q for stored Q programs, analog positioning, encoder following and Modbus. The number is the stack length (longer stack, more torque). The next letter is the port: A for RS-232, R for RS-485, E for Ethernet. N means no encoder. Tell us the controller and the move and we pick the model.

Power supply

It runs on 12 to 70 VDC. Higher voltage holds torque at higher speed; torque speed curves are on the datasheet. We quote the DC supply with it, including Block power supplies. More on the line at Applied Motion Products stepper and servo motion and the Applied Motion collection.
