The Block LR3 48-3/500 is a 3 phase line reactor rated 500 A at 480 V with 3% impedance (0.044 mH per phase). Block USA's cross reference puts it on 350 to 400 HP drives at 480 V. 3% or 5%?
A 3% reactor on the drive input cuts line notching and nuisance overvoltage trips and is the usual default. A 5% reactor cuts input current harmonics further and gives more protection when the supply is stiff or has capacitor switching upstream. On the output side, a reactor slows voltage rise at the motor on longer lead runs. Send the drive model and motor lead length and we will size it with you.
