Selecting the right SPD
Match the SPD type to the location first. A Type 1 device can sit on the line side of the service disconnect; a Type 2 cannot. Then match the system voltage and configuration, because the configuration sets the modes of protection. Check MCOV against the actual line voltage, and use VPR to judge what the connected equipment sees. In is the repeat rating, Imax is the single shot rating; size on In.
