Every rating below comes from the current Rex catalog. Standard units are Type 1 or 3R, 150°C rise, copper or aluminum windings, 60 Hz with 50/60 Hz optional, and carry a 12 month warranty. About 85% of what Rex ships is built to a customer spec, so anything outside these ranges is a quote, not a no.

What to send for a transformer quote

kVA, primary and secondary voltage, phase, temperature rise (150°C standard, 115°C or 80°C optional), enclosure (Type 1 or 3R standard, 4 or 4X optional), and any K-factor, electrostatic shield, seismic or thermal sensing requirement. Copper or aluminum windings, your call.

What to send for a reactor quote

Drive HP or rated amps, system voltage, 3% or 5%, line or load side, and whether you need it open or enclosed. If you have an MTE, TCI or Hammond Power part number, send that and we cross it.

Certifications

CSA certified (file LR34493 on distribution units), UL Listed, IEEE C57.12.01 and C57.12.91, NEMA ST-20, ISO 9001:2015. Distribution transformers meet DOE 2016 and NRCan 2019 efficiency. Reactors to IEEE C57.110.

Are Rex transformers UL Listed and DOE 2016 compliant?

Yes. Distribution transformers are CSA certified and UL Listed and meet U.S. DOE 2016 (10 CFR Part 431) and Canadian NRCan 2019 efficiency rules. Reactors are CSA certified and UL Listed to IEEE C57.110 and NEMA ST-20.

Do I need a 3% or a 5% line reactor for my VFD?

3% is the usual line-side choice for harmonic reduction and transient protection. 5% gives more attenuation with slightly more voltage drop. On the load side either impedance protects the motor on long cable runs. Size to the drive's rated current, not the motor nameplate.

Can you cross-reference an MTE, TCI or Hammond Power reactor to Rex?
